About HHSH

Overview

Our school used to be a branch of National Tainan First Senior High School. Since its establishment on October 20th, 1959, our school has been a stepping stone to outstanding universities in Taiwan for more than 50 years. It is located in the Hsin-hua District of Tainan and abuts on some picturesque tourist attractions, such as Hutoupi Reservoir (虎頭埤) and Xinhua Experimental Forest Station (中興林場). Our school is also famed as ‘Hsin-hua Park.’ When wandering around our campus, you will find yourself surrounded by tall trees and beautiful flowers. Besides, you may also hear some polite greetings from our students with friendly smiles on their faces.

Our school is a coeducational regular senior high school, which doesn’t offer vocational training programs. There are 12 classes in each grade and the total number of our students is about 1,300. In 2010, 2013, and 2017 in a row, our school was officially awarded first prize for school evaluation. On top of that, in 2013, we also received a tremendous honor from the Ministry of Education—the High Quality School Accreditation—for providing the students in the local community with superb educational resources.

They are classified into 6 groups by their natures, including academic arts and science, art, physical education, entertainment, talents, and service. Apart from club activities, freshmen can attend the annual adventure education tour while sophomores can participate in the three-day campus tour held every year. What’s more, with the implement of School Actualization Program and Educational Resource Homogenization Program for Senior High Schools, we run a wide variety of summer camps and instructive activities for our students as well. Our students can choose to join in any of the following summer camps and activities: English Camp, Historical Sites and Humanities Exploration Camp, Ecosystem Explorer Camp, and District Court Visit, to name but a few.

International Exchange and Cooperation

As a member of global village, we are aware of the significance of broadening our students’ international perspectives, and the necessity of equipping them with competitiveness to compete in international markets. Thus, we are proactive in cooperating with foreign schools. We hold an overseas educational tour to Japan on a yearly basis. Our principal would personally lead the school’s delegation to visit the local senior high schools, learning invaluable experience from them. As for our partner institutions, we formed a sister school relationship with International Management Institute Switzerland (IMI) in 2013, and signed a memorandum of understanding with Gilwon Girls’ High School in 2019.
